I am beyond thrilled to share the love story of Claire and Jon’s wedding at the breathtaking Summergrove Estate. As their celebrant, I had the absolute pleasure of guiding them through this joyous journey, filled with personal touches, heartfelt moments, and a few delightful surprises.
On a beautiful day surrounded by the lush scenery of Summergrove Estate, Claire and Jon gathered with their closest family, friends, and a few special guests who joined us virtually. This day marked the culmination of their love story and the beginning of a new chapter as husband and wife.
From the moment guests arrived, the excitement in the air was palpable. Claire and Jon were beaming with happiness, ready to celebrate their love with all the people who have supported them along the way.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was a charming letter from two very important members of Claire and Jon’s family who couldn’t be there in person— their beloved cats, Walter and Winnie. As I read the letter, written from Walter’s perspective, the guests were in stitches, but not as much as me!
Claire and Jon’s relationship has been a beautiful partnership from the start. They met at a house party in February 2017, Claire’s very first night in Brisbane. Despite initial hesitations and a blurry start, their connection grew stronger over time. From their first date involving tapas, sangria, and a scary movie, to moving in together and sharing many adventures, their love story is filled with fun and memorable moments.
Their shared love for board games, playing cards, tennis, escape rooms, and trivia nights paints a picture of a couple who truly enjoys each other’s company. They might be ready for the retirement village with their early bedtimes, but their vibrant love keeps them young at heart.
A Musical Surprise
To add to the day’s excitement, and with the help of their amazing singer Danielle Guest we threw in a special musical surprise. Knowing Claire’s love for Adam Sandler and her favourite movie, “The Wedding Singer,” I couldn’t resist ending the ceremony with a rendition of “I Wanna Grow Old With You.” It was a perfect tribute to Claire and Jon’s fun-loving and heartfelt relationship.
There are so many little ways to make your ceremony that extra special, and that all comes during our time together, and how much you let me into your little love bubble.
The rest of the day was magical! Captured by the ever-so-talented Graeme Passmore Photography. Brought to life by the breathtaking florals from Ivy and Blue Events and the meticulous styling by Harper Arrow. The natural tones of terracotta and rust were elegantly woven into every detail, creating a sense of rustic charm. The bridal party, dressed in earthy hues, perfectly complemented the stunning surroundings, enhancing the overall aesthetic.
The rest of the evening was spent hearing from those special people in their lives, and dancing the night away as Mr and Mrs Gorter!
